Well, I buggered off for a long time - I had too much going on and wasn't really doing any art. So, I'm tentatively back - I want to learn inking, I want to paint, I want to stop feeling that I'm a failure at something I love.

I also have a much more formal account as deadagedesign for my graphics/design work. This here is just a play about account so watch me f*** up hilariously.

Thank you for being so honest. Most of the time people will tell me that the things I write are good and that they like it. Yes, they may like it but they don't tell me what they really think of it. Not trying to be rude or anything but, anybody can write good poetry. It doesn't matter how old they are or how "mature" they are. So many people say that teenages are too immature to do certain things. It may be true that they are immature but, to be honest, that does not mean they aren't mature enough to write good poetry.
:iconkillingophelia:
I'm always happy to be honest and it's simply my experience. When I was younger I thought my poetry was great and then, re-reading it later, I realised it was actually a very narrow construction; I think what you aren't realising is that I'm comparing with some of the truly great poets. I know my work isn't very good because it doesn't have that universal quality - mature poets simply tend to be able to master a wider, more complex range of emotions in their poetry. Possibly 'good' is the wrong word - I mean affecting, unique, thought-provoking, memorable, moving...and so forth. I'm going to have a look at some of your other stuff just in comparison to see if I can explain better what I mean :)
:iconwhereonlywelie:
That's a much better way to explain what you ment. If you would have said it thay way ealier then I wouldn't have been mad at what you had said. I've realized the sme thing with the things I have written in the past. I realize the things I write do get better as time goes on. I'm sure you ahve realized that too. Oh, I don't have any other things I have written on DA. I just recentaly decided that I would post things I've written on here. I'll have more in the future.
